Step 1
Approach a jump carving from one edge to the other with enough speed to get about 2ft off the ground (3ft+ if including the grab).
Step 2
As you approach the jump, flatten your board and keep it straight. Remember to keep your eyes facing forward and looking where you are going as this will help you to balance. Don’t look at your feet. As you develop, you can launch of either edge.
Step 3
Apply a little pressure to the back foot as you would for an ollie. As you exit the jump, push down on your back foot to create a spring action which will propel you further in the air.
Step 4
Pull your knees up toward your chest as high as possible to lift your board further off the ground. Remember to bring the board to you and not the other way around. Keep your weight down through the board, so do not lean forward or backwards.
Allow the board to flatten out so that it is roughly horizontal in the air.
To complete the jump, you can use your back hand to reach down and grab the toe edge of your snowboard between your front and back foot.
Step 5
To land, release your grab and lower your legs. Do not extend your legs completely so that as you land they absorb the impact.
